New York: Sania Mirza and her mixed doubles partner Colin Fleming from Britain beat Andrea Petkovic and Eric Butorac 6-2, 7-6 to advance to the 2nd round in the mixed doubles in the ongoing US Open 2012.

India’s doubles pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna lost their first round match to crash out of the US Open.

In another doubles match, India’s Leander Paes and his partner Radek Stepnek defeated Dustin Brown and Christopher Kas 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the second round.
