New Delhi: India's Yuki Bhambri defeated Amir Weintraub of Israel 6-3, 6-3 in the tournament held in Fergana, Uzbekistan to win his maiden ATP Challenger Tour singles title on Sunday.
Bhambri got past the fourth seed in an hour and 20 minutes at the $35,000 hard court event.
The win fetched the 19-year-old $5,000 in prize money and 80 points which should help him improve his current ranking of 297. Somdev Devvarman is currently the highest-ranked Indian at 230.
Bhambri had won his first ATP Challenger Tour doubles crown in Busan last week. (IANS)
