•    He has the record of holding the fastest 50 wickets in 23 matches from 1998 till 2009; He lost his
record to Ajantha Mendis who achieved the feat in 19 matches.

•    He has scored the fastest 50 for India in ODIs for just 21 balls.

•    He has hit an unbeaten century in 2002 at Lord’s, batting at number eight.

•    At Oval Adelaide in 2003, Agarkar took 6/41 for India in the Test match against Australia to win their first Test over 20 years.

•    His 5/81 in the 2010 Ranji Trophy finals against Karnataka helped Mumbai lift its 39th Ranji Trophy victory.

•    Agarkar’s maiden ODI wicket was that of Adam Gilchrist.

Profile:

Ajit Agarkar is an Indian cricketer who plays First-class cricket for Mumbai. He is a right-arm fast bowler. He made his One Day International debut in 1998 against Australia in Kochi. Soon after his debut he won his Man of the Match against Sri Lanka by taking three wickets. He is currently the 3rd highest wicket taker (288 wickets) for India in ODI's after Javagal Srinath (315) and Anil Kumble (337).

Under his captaincy in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2012, Mumbai reached the finals in which Mumbai lost against Bengal. Now he plays for Delhi Daredevils, and earlier he played for Kolkata Knight Riders for first three seasons of Indian Premier League. He played his first T20 Match against South Africa at Johannesburg in 2006.
