Mahindra Racing join forces with Tourism Malaysia for Putrajaya Formula E race

Mumbai: The Mahindra Racing Formula E cars will be adorned with Tourism Malaysia logos next week at Putrajaya, as the team’s drivers, Karun Chandhok and Bruno Senna take part in the second round of the FIA Formula E Championship.

Mahindra Racing have announced an exciting partnership between the team and Tourism Malaysia which will see the two working closely together over the duration of the weekend in Putrajaya.
The partnership also offers an incredible opportunity for all Indian race fans – with Tourism Malaysia offering flights, a three night stay in Malaysia and a circuit entrance ticket for the incredible price of just Rs 40,000. Mahindra Racing had previously worked with Tourism Malaysia in 2012 with the Mahindra Racing Moto3 team at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
Fans wanting to take up the offer will have the opportunity to experience what millions of tourists enjoy every year; fantastic cuisine, culture and an amazing capital city, Kuala Lumpur. The country is also renowned for its beautiful countryside, beaches and islands that make Malaysia a favourite global tourist destination. The Tourism Malaysia partnership will allow Mahindra Racing fans from within India the opportunity to experience some of this for themselves.

Team Principal Dilbagh Gill said, “We’re delighted to not only renew a strong relationship with a great organisation like Tourism Malaysia, but also offer fans a unique opportunity to come and support the team in person. While an Indian round of the FIA Formula E Championship remains a long term goal for the team, for now Malaysia is the closest race geographically for Indian race fans. With Tourism Malaysia we’re able to offer a realistic opportunity to attend the second ever Formula E event. Not only will our fans be among the first in the world to experience the excitement of Formula E live, they can do so in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.”

Manoharan Periasamy, Director, Tourism Malaysia said, “Sports tourism is a key driver for Malaysia’s tourism industry and we are always looking at strategic tie-ups to boost the same. With state-of-the-art racing facilities in Malaysia, we organise a variety of racing events through the year and have been attracting a considerable number of sporting enthusiasts from India. Malaysia is adorned with both a modern landscape and natural beauty, making it a perfect holiday destination - whether it is to enjoy a sporting event or just spend some leisure time.”
