Jayasuriya says he's happy performing infront of Madhuri Dixit on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa

Former Sri-Lanka cricket captain Sanath Jayasuriya, famously known as Matunga Marauder, will be putting on his dancing shoes for a dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ) season five. The show is co-judged by India’s dhak-dhak- girl Madhuri Dixit and will be launched on Colors starting June 16 to air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm.

Knowing his limitations as a dancer, the star cricketer is practicing hard. “It’s tough for me but I will dance the way I know. Other competitors are trained dancers but I will do what I know best. My choreographer is working hard to make me a better dancer,” says a report in Bombay Times.

The cricketer-turned dancer says that he has never danced in real life barring shaking a leg or two at a few parties and therefore cannot offer anything extraordinary as a dancer. “I can offer something different as a cricketer. I have never danced in real life barring shaking a leg or two at a few parties. I have played cricket all my life. I will give my best to this show and at the same time, keep my country’s concern and culture on top priority. I have taken up this challenge and will give my best,” says Jayasuriya

An ardent Rajnikanth fan, Jayasuriya hasn’t heard much about Madhuri, but knowing the yesteryear’s superstar now, the star cricketer he says he is happy performing infront of Madhuri.  “I hear that Madhuri is a famous actress. I am happy to be performing in front of her.” We hear that his close friend Harbhajan Singh was present at the launch episode to support him. Apparently, Sanath checked with Bhajji after every shot was taken, says the BT report.

Meanwhile Madhuri Dixit says dancing has been very close to her heart and she enjoyed being a judge. “I am looking forward to get JDJ to get started. I am gentle and nice to the contestants while judging their acts, as they are non-dancers and are learning,” says the superstar, according to HT City.
