New Delhi: The 56th Senior Free Style, Greco Roman Style & 14th Female National Wrestling Championship will be held from October 14 – 16 at Nandini Nagar, Faizabad. The Championship will be hosted by the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association.

All the affiliated Units/Boards of Wrestling Federation of India have confirmed their participation in this mega championship. The weigh-in will be held on 13/10/2011. Doordarshan will carry out the live telecast of the competition on all three days.

The opening ceremony will be held on 14/10/2011 and the closing ceremony will be held on 16/10/2011. Ajay Maken, Minister of State [Independent Charge] for Youth Affairs & Sports will be the chief guest during the closing Ceremony.

The Selection Committee of WFI will select the wrestlers for the national coaching camps for preparation of the 2012 London Olympic Games during the National Championship. This is the last Senior Wrestling National Championship before the 2012 London Olympic Games.
