Pro Wrestling League semi-final: Haryana beat Punjab 4-3; to take on Mumbai in Final

Haryana Hammers Tatyana Kit Priyanka Phogat PunjabNew Delhi: Haryana Hammers entered the final of the Pro Wrestling League after prevailing over Punjab Royals 4-3 in a thrilling second semifinal of the inaugural edition of the event.

Haryana Hammers will clash with table toppers Mumbai Garuda in the final tomorrow.

Haryana registered a come-from-behind win to make it to the grand finale. Punjab Royals took an early lead (2-0) after winning the first two bouts before Haryana Hammers tied the score by bagging the next two at the Indira Gandhi International Stadium. A win each for Punjab and Haryana in the following two bouts and the score was tied yet again.

In place of injured captain Yogeshwar Dutt, Haryana Hammers fielded Vishal Rana against Rajneesh of Punjab Royals in the men's 65kg. Rajneesh outplayed Vishal (12-2) by technical superiority in just four minutes and 32 seconds.

Haryana’s stand-in-skipper Tatyana Kit, a World Championships bronze medallist, came back from behind to register a 5-4 by fall victory over Priyanka Phogat of Punjab in the women's 53kg.
