In a dramatic five-game duel that swung like a pendulum, West Bengal’s Titash Chatterjee showed grit and composure to overcome state-mate Debanshi Chakraborty 8-11, 11-7, 11-9, 6-11, 11-7. The encounter was marked by sharp rallies, tactical switches, and fearless shot-making from both sides, ultimately highlighting the rising depth in the Indian girls’ table tennis talent pool, especially in Bengal.

In comparison, the Youth Boys U-13 title clash, though fiercely contested, wrapped up more swiftly. West Bengal’s Ariv Dutta displayed controlled aggression and maturity beyond his years to defeat Gujarat’s Dev Bhatt 11-9, 11-9, 11-6. With calm execution under pressure and well-timed attacking strokes, Ariv ensured that West Bengal’s dominance at the U-13 stage was firmly underlined on championship day.

The next generation of Indian table tennis talent produced spirited performances, with the U-13 and U-11 events offering a glimpse of bright futures across the table. The U-13 matches, in particular, were marked by fast rallies, strong temperament, and impressive shot-making as the finalists booked their places for the title round.

In the boys’ U-13 category, West Bengal’s Ariv and promising youngster Dev entered the final after composed semifinal outings. Ariv remained steady in crucial moments to post a straight-games win over Tamil Nadu’s M. Ashvajith, taking the match 11-9, 12-10, 11-7. Dev matched that focus, defeating Punjab’s Trijal Vohra 11-8, 11-9, 2-11, 11-5, bouncing back swiftly after dropping the third game. Earlier, Ariv moved past Karnataka’s M. Siddhanth 3-1, and Ashvajith swept West Bengal’s Pratyush Manna. Dev held off Maharashtra talent Ayaan Athar in a tight five-game quarterfinal encounter, while Trijal overcame Aakarshan Yadav of Maharashtra in four games.

The girls’ U-13 semifinals were equally competitive, with West Bengal’s Titash and Assam’s Debanshi advancing to the title clash. Titash battled past state-mate Sreosree Chakraborty in four hard-fought games, while Debanshi staged a strong turnaround to beat Assam’s Divija Paul in five. The quarterfinals saw Sreosree, Divija, Titash, and Debanshi all come through closely contested matches, underlining the depth in the age group.

Bengal boy and girl shine

In the U-11 section, West Bengal enjoyed a memorable outing, producing both champions. In the boys’ final, Rajdeep Biswas kept his nerve during a pressure-filled decider to defeat Punjab’s Satvik Sharma 11-7, 5-11, 11-2, 7-11, 12-10. Rajdeep’s semifinal win came in another five-game contest against TTFI-1’s Aarav Sahney, while Satvik edged Maharashtra’s Yuvaan Walia in four tight games to make the final.

The girls’ U-11 final also went the distance, with West Bengal’s Debanna Ari prevailing over Maharashtra’s Aadya Baheti 18-16, 8-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7. Debanna had earlier beaten state compatriot Dayita Roy in straight games, and Aadya moved past Karnataka’s Sakya Santosh in four.
