Manan back into Billiards, defeated Siddharth 3-1

manan-chandraManan Chandra (PSPB) who represents Bharat Petroleum has returned to the game of Billiards and significantly defeated India No.6 Siddharth Parikh of Railways 3-1 in the game of Billiards in Manisha National Billiards & Snooker Championship 2013 being held at Gymnasium Hall of Jiwaji University, Gwalior (Org. by Gwalior District Billiards and Snooker Association). Manan is well known for his performances in the field of snooker and pool. He played the last National Billiards championship in the year 2006 (Chennai).

 

Today in his match against Siddharth and won first two games comfortably scoring 101-31 and 101-78. Siddharth attempted a comeback and managed to win the next game 100-21 but in the fourth game Manan did not give much chance to India No.6 and sealed the match 3-1 by winning the game 100-32. Though Manan lost one match yesterday while playing against Simachalam (AP) but won the next against Gunjan Patel from Gujarat.

 

With this loss, Siddharth has put himself under difficult situation to qualify from the group for knock out stage as yesterday he also lost against Ishpreet Chadha from Maharashtra. In the points tally so far, Simachalam is leading in the group with +6 points followed by Manan +2 points.

 

Alok Kumar (PSPB) also suffered a shock defeat by the hands of Aditya Agarwal representing Railways. The match went till the decider frame where Aditya scored a break of 94 points to register match win. Before that the entire match swung either side where both the players kept winning alternate games or landed for the decider.

 

Player from Jammu & Kashmir, Umar Humanyun also registered his first win in this national by defeating local player Rahul Agarwal (MP) 3-1. Prior to this he lost initial two match V. Subramanian (MH) and Mahesh Jagdale (MH).

 

In the last night match, Local player Rajneesh Bansal (MP) gave a tough fight to Aditya Agarwal and pulled him to play the decider where in the last moments luck did not favoured him and he lost 2-3 to Aditya.
