Barcelona: Kimi Raikkonen sent out some serious message to the Formula 1 champion as he finished on top at the final testing of the pre-season of 2012 at Catalunya here. Raikkonen, a former F1 champion has made a comeback to F1 after a gap of three years with Team Lotus and clocked 1 minute 22.030 seconds, the fastest time of both Barcelona test sessions and completed 121 laps.
Lotus finished top of the list for three days out of four with Raikkonen’s teammate Romain Grosjean topping the charts on Thursday and Friday.
Fernando Alonso of Ferrari finished second fastest, 0.220 seconds behind Raikkonen.
Meanwhile, World Champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull vying for three consecutive titles did not have the best of the result before going into the opening race of the season in Melbourne, the Australian GP as he finished last and just finished 23 laps.
Bruno Senna of Williams finished third followed by Nico Hulkenburg of Force India and Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber in fourth and fifth respectively.
Lewis Hamilton of Mclaren finished sixth and seven times World champion Michael Schumacher finished eight on the grid.
