Chandigarh: DAV Football Club drubbed Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, during a match of the ongoing Junior Girls’ State Football Championship being held at the Football Stadium, Sector 17, here today.


The winning team thrashed the opponents by a margin of seven goals to nil. Pooja opened the account for the team in the second minute, while Taharni doubled the lead after scoring in the 10th minute.


In the second half of the game, Niti and Jagpreet scored two goals each, while Taharni scored the final goal of the game.


In the second match, riding high on Amanjot’s hat-trick, the team of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, (GMSSS-37) routed Girls Football Club by 3-0. Amanjot took the team to register the victory after scoring in the seventh, 27th and 30th minute of the game.


Earlier in the league matches, Sacred Heart School ousted Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22 (GMSSS-22), by 1-0.
