Chandigarh: St. Xavier’s School, Sector 44, will face Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 36, and St. John’s School, Sector 26, will play against St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, in the semifinals of the ongoing Sub-Junior Football (Boys) Championship for the Coca Cola Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy, being held at Football Stadium, Sector 17, here today.

In the quarterfinal match, St Xavier’s school defeated Delhi Public School, Sector 40, by 2-0. Nitish put Xavier’s team ahead after scoring the first goal in 32nd minute while Varun doubled the lead in the 43rd minute of the match.

In the second match of the day, Government Model School, Sector 36, got a walkover against Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 28.

In another match St. John’s school and St Stephen’s school defeated their rivals to move into the next stage.
