DSA hold open selection trials-cum-coaching camp to select Delhi State Senior Football team for Santosh Trophy

New Delhi: The Delhi Soccer  Association (DSA) will hold an open selection trials-cum-coaching camp to select Delhi State Senior Football team for participation in the 71st National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy ( 2016-17 ( North Zone leg) scheduled to be held at Sunder Nagar in Himachal Pradesh from December 27 to January 1, 2017.

The north zone participating teams will be Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Jammu & Kashmir and hosts- Himachal Pradesh.  The teams have been divided in two groups of four teams each.  Top two teams of each group will qualify for the semi-finals.  All the participating teams have to submit a list of thirty (30) players to All India Football Federation (AIFF) for "CRS"  (Central Registration System) and “CMS” (Competition Management System) by December 15.

The special feature of this year's championship will be that out of 20  teams composition, five players will be of Under - 21 age ( born between 1st January, 1997 and not later than 31st December, 1997  Meanwhile, the DSA has constituted selection committee with NK Bhatia ( M. No. 9811447274  ) as Chairman, Magan Singh Patwal ( M. No.9810857965 ) as convener.  The chief coach of the camp will be Abhijoy Basu ( AFC 'A'  licence holder, which is mandatory for the championship) who will be assisted by ' C '  licence holder Ravi Rana.

The selection trials will start from tomorrow (December 8) from 9.00 AM onwards at Dr.  Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi.  Interested probables should reach at the venue alongwith a medical fitness certificate and three passport size photographs for registration tomorrow.
