Chandigarh: Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) Club, Sector 26, defeated EME, Jalandhar 1-0, while Chandigarh XI beat PSPCL, Patiala, 4-0 on the opening day of 46th SN Vohra's All India Gurmit Memorial Hockey Tournament at the Hockey Stadium, Sector 42 Sports Complex, here today.

In the match between Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) Club, Sector 26, and EME, Jalandhar, the lone goal was scored by Jatin in the 67th minute.

In the second match between Chandigarh XI and PSPCL, Rohit scored in the 30th minute to give Chandigarh XI the lead, while Maninder doubled the margin and while Amit struck twice in the 45th and 55th minutes to give his side a 4-0 victory.
On Sunday, Ropar Hawks will face CISF, while IAF will play Northern Railway.
