Raj Angad Bawa and Arshnoor engineer Chandigarh’s innings win over Amritsar in Punjab Inter-District U-14 Cricket Championship

cricket wickets 300Chandigarh: In the three-day final being played at GNPS, Sector 36, Chandigarh bowled out Amritsar for 100 in 57.3 overs in their first innings the Inter-District U-14 Cricket Championship. Opener Sumit Pal Singh (44) off 99 balls with six boundaries was the main run getter for Amritsar.

Right-arm leg spinner Arshnoor Singh bowled a tantalising length and with his subtle variation snared six wickets for 34 runs. Chandigarh team started with a positive manner and went on to pile up 371 for 6 in 113.1 overs. Opener Harnoor Singh 88 off 151 balls, inclusive of 15 boundaries and one drop Raj Angad Bawa put on 122 runs for the 2nd wicket.

Raj Angad Bawa kept one end going and went on to hammer a double century (200) off 299 balls with 29 boundaries and five huge sixes.
Chandigarh declared their innings at 371 for 6 in 113.1 overs.

The bowling honours for Amritsar were shared by Prince Rai 3 for 110 and Sahil Rai 3 for 77.

Amritsar in their second innings made a dismal start and were finally bowled out for 67 in 34 overs. Arshnoor Singh replicated his first innings performance by bagging another six wickets for 31 runs, enabling Chandigarh to handover a huge innings and 204 runs to Amritsar.
