Brilliant century by Anmolpreet for Patiala against Chandigarh in the 2nd round of U-19 DP Azad trophy

Patiala/Amritsar/Jalandhar: Patiala trounced Chandigarh by 142 runs in their U-19 match played at Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium Patiala on Monday.
Winning the toss and deciding to bat Patiala rattled up 319 for 6 in 50 overs. They helped in their cause by a brilliant century by the skipper Anmolpret Singh (130) off 133 balls with 13x4s and 2x6s and sedate knock of Akul Partap Pandove (49) off 56 balls with 5x4s and 1x6. Chandigarh conceded 12 runs penalty for slow over rate. Nipun Pandita 2 for 37, Mandeep Singh 1 for 65, Resham Sharma 1 for 55, Amandeep Pannu 1 for 42 and Raman Bishnoi 1 for 81 were the main wicket takers for Chandigarh.

Chandigarh were bowled out for 177 in 42 overs. Jagmeet Singh 37 off 60 balls with 5x4s and 1x6, Resham Sharma 55 off 41 balls with 5x4s and 3x6s and Raman Bishnoi 18 were the main run getters for Chandigarh. For Patiala Akul Partap Pandove 3 for 31, Mayank Markande 3 for 33, Abhishek Verma 2 for 33, Gurwinder Singh 1 for 28 and Rahul Parsad 1 for 19 were the main wicket takers.

Patiala got 4 points while Chandigarh got zero.

In the 2nd match played between Ludhiana and Amritsar at Gndhi Grounds Amritsar, Ludhiana won the toss and elected to bat first. Ludhiana were all out at 132 in 38.1 overs. Harnoor Singh 24 off 53 balls with 3x4s, Vaibhav Kalra 39 off 65 balls with 3x4s and 1x6 and Gurjot Singh 21 off 37 balls with 4x4s were the main scorers for Ludhiana while Rohit Kumar 5 for 34, Abhishek Sharma 4 for 8 and Amit Sharma 1 for 22 were the main wicket takers.

Replying Amritsar reached the target of 133 without loss in 19.4 overs to ekkout a 10 wicket victory. Vivek Sharma unbeaten 67 off 71 balls with 7x4s and 4x6s and Marshal Bhagat unbeaten 51 off 50 balls with 6x4s and 2x6s were involved in a 133 runs opening stand.

Amritsar got 4 points while Ludhiana got Zero.

In the 3rd match played at Jalandhar JDCA U-19 defeated Mohali by 124 runs and garnered 4 points while Mohali got zero. Put into bat by Mohali, Jalandhar had a disastrous start when they lost their first wicket with 2 runs on the board. Thereafter Arjun Verma (65) and Amanbir (86) put on 119 runs for the 2nd wicket. Jalandhar innings ended at 261 for 9 in 50 overs. For Mohali Taranpreet Singh 47, Gurkeerat Singh 2 for 52 and Akash Dahri 2 for 51 shared the spoil. Replying Mohali could muster 137 for 8 in 50 overs. Vishu Kashyap 31 was the highest run getter for Mohali. Gaurav Chaudhary 2 for 29 was the most successful bowler for jalandhar.
