MUPC 2014: Pune FC face Madhya Pradesh DFA in the opener

Pune FC will face Madhya Pradesh District Football Association in their Manchester United Premier Cup (MUPC) opener to be held at the Shree Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune on Sunday, 19th January 2014.

Placed in Group-A, and playing in their first tournament of the season, the 16-man Pune FC squad will face PIFA Colaba (Mumbai) and Ernakulam District Football Association Academy (Kerala) in their other group games.

With a total of twelve teams participating from the South-West Zone, three groups of four teams have been formed. The winner of each group along with the best second-placed team will qualify for the semifinals.

The winner of the South-West Zone will face the winner of the North-East zone (currently being held in Delhi) for the MUPC India Finals on Friday, 24th January at the Balewadi Stadium.

The winners of the India finals will earn the chance to represent the country in the regional finals in Thailand this June.

Defenders: Santosh Rathod, Dilkhush Singh, Shubham Bhosale, Gulab Madavi, Harshal Redekar

Midfielders: Sahil Bhokare, Joel Lalremruata, Dhruvmil Pandya, Omega Vanlalhruaitluanga, Saurabh Salape, Shambhuraje Barate

Attackers: Jagdish Gadewad, Cladeo Nongpluh, Gaurav Swaminathan

Officials: Mohan Dass (Coach), Sujay Sharma (Coach), Rakesh Walhekar (Manager), Prerak Arya (Physio).
