New Delhi: Parth Miglani’s brilliant half-century helped St. Xavier’s School, Raj Niwas Marg beat Shafiq Memorial School, Bara Hindu Rao by a huge margin of 172 runs in a Group B league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup u-16 inter-school tournament, played at  St. Xavier’s School ground today.

The match was played of 30 overs each innings as both the teams arrived late at the venue. Shafiq Memorial School won the toss and elected to field first. The decision went against them as St. Xavier’s School scored an unbeatable total of 218 runs for seven wickets.

Parth Miglani played a steady innings and smashed a beautiful half-century, scored 59 runs. He was well-supported by Prateek who smashed a 24-run knock.

In reply, Shafiq Memorial School was bowled out at a meagre score of 46 runs. Himalaya, Sahil and Chirag claimed two wickets each and bundled-out the oppositions in just 15 overs.

Parth Miglani was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his spectacular half-century.

Meanwhile, in Group A league match, Mohit Saini’s all-round performance helped Yuva Shakti Public School, Rohini beat Mahadev Sr. Model School, Rana Pratap Bagh by 50 runs at Bharat Nagar Govt. School ground.

Yuva Shakti Public School won the toss and opted for batting. They managed to score 140 runs for 5 wickets in 30 overs with the help of Mohit Saini (24 n.o.) and Sarthak Mishra’s (24) responsible innings.

Mahadev Sr. Model School bowlers bowled tightly and didn’t give away extra runs. Deepak and Vishal Khanna took two wickets each.

However, Mahadev Sr. Model School batsmen didn’t click and the whole team bowled out in just 90 runs. Mohit Saini (2/5) and Sarthak Mishra (3/18) showed their all-rounder skill and restricted the oppositions at 22 overs. Also, Abhishek Mishra shattered them with his three-wicket haul.

Krishna Goel showed some resistance with his 23-run knock. Mohit Saini was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his striking performance.
