Mohali: A spectacular performance by skipper Piyush Chawla (34 and 2 for 48) helped Central Zone defeat South Zone by four wickets to enter the semifinals of Prof DB Deodhar Trophy being held at the PCA Cricket Stadium, Mohali.

The Central Zone will now have a semifinal clash with North Zone at Dharamsala beginning on March 18.

The first semifinal will start at 9 am at the PCA Cricket Stadium, Mohali, between West Zone and East Zone. West Zone is being led by international Star Parthiv Patel while East Zone is being led by international star Wriddhiman Saha. West Zone also boasts of international stars Ajinkya Rahane, Munaf Patel, Chiteshwar Pujara and Jay Dev Unadkat. Saurav Tiwari and Dheeraj Yadav will be turning up for East Zone.
