Why was Rossi’s protege Romano Fenati suspended from SkyVR46 team?

Following the qualifying session at the Redbull ring in Austria in the Moto3 category, The Doctor owned team, SkyVR46, released a shocking statement saying it has suspended its leading rider in the title race in 3rd position, Romano Fenati, on the grounds of behavioral indiscipline.

The official statement read “Following repeated behaviour not in line with the disciplinary rules of a team, the rider Romano Fenati has been suspended. He will not be on the starting grid of the Austrian Grand Prix."

Fenati had a deal in place to move upto Moto2 with the SkyVR team but that move is now unlikely to happen. He was running 3rd in the championship behind Brad Binder and Jorge Novaro but had a few dismal performances in the previous two races. The championship now though, looks like a two horse race between Binder and Novaro.

Rossi also spoke on the matter and expressed his feelings and disappointments against Fenati.

“It's a great shame, we're not happy about what's happened. I'd like to find the right words. I consider it a defeat, a battle lost.” - said the Doctor –“Romano has great talent and we wanted to take a bet on him also for the future, but we had to give up. It's not a decision that has been taken lightly and I don't think we can change our decision. We hope to succeed where others had failed: we wanted to help Romano show his full potential and become a professional. It didn't go to plan”.

It is very strange to see something like this happen in moto3. The suspension has made the championship less exciting.
