The match of my life…

Trupti Murugunde,
International badminton player

Best of my sports memory has to be the match against Japanese player Eriko Hirose, who is currently the world number 10. It was during the World Championships 2006, Spain that I faced her in the pre-quarters. Saina Nehwal lost to her in the previous match. I gave her a tough fight. Though I lost to her, it was one of the finest performances of my career. The best part was someone like Mr Prakash Padukone coming up to you and congratulating you for your performance. Even when the Indian team returned back, he kept praising me and telling people about my performance. It was the moment of my life, which will always be special to me because even after loosing it gave me a new confidence and a reason to work even harder.
