Smriti Mehra to start as favourite at Clover Greens golf course

Bengaluru: Fresh from her stunning victory last week, in-form veteran Delhi golfer Smriti Mehra will be the star to watch out for in the 9th leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013. The INR 6,00,000 event will be held at the state-of-the-art Clover Greens golf course situated on the outskirts of Bengaluru just across the border in Tamil Nadu from August 27th– 29th of this month.

Smriti who displayed spectacular golf in the 8th leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013 last week, pulling off a stunning victory over fellow city golfer Ankita Tiwana, will start her campaign for the 9th leg full of confidence and with a hope to repeat her performance this time too. Smriti is currently placed second in the Hero Order of Merit with total earnings of INR 5, 85, 000 with three wins to her credit.


Current Hero Order of Merit leader and Kolkata golfer Neha Tripathi, who surprisingly went off colour in the 8th leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013 after three consecutive wins, will also hope to bounce back in this tournament. Neha currently leads the Hero Order of Merit with total earnings of INR 7,05,000 and four wins to her credit.

Some other golfers to watch out for in the 9th leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour will be Delhi’s Vani Kapoor and Ankita Tiwana, and rookie golfer Shweta Galande from Pune.

The Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013 comprises a total of fourteen legs spanning across key locations in India.
