kkrgautamgambhiroutforaduckMumbai: Riding on some fantastic knocks from Sachin Tendulkar and Dwayne Smith helped Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders by a huge margin of 65 runs at Wankhade on Tuesday. Admitting that his team didn't play good cricket, Kolkata Kinight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir said that a teams needs to play good cricket to win, which KKR failed to do against Mumbai.

"I don't know whether it's a jinx, but if you don't play proper cricket, this is what is going to happen. Every game is a new game. I see a lot of quality around our dressing room. We have four more games to go. We have a lot of depth in our batting and we'll put our best playing XI on the field," said Gambhir.

Sachin Tendulkar, who played a fantastic knock of 48 runs off 28 balls to get the man-of-the-match award, said that he though he hasn't been able to spend much time in the middle, he has been aggressive in his approach for whatever time he has batted.

“If you look at the whole season, I've not been able to spend much time in the middle. But whatever I've batted, it's been pretty aggressive,” said Tendulkar adding that there was a bit of help for the seamers from the wicket today. “But I was striking the ball well today and I thought therefore I should be more aggressive.”

Talking about his interaction and advice to the MI players, Sachin said that it's always about give and take. “It shouldn't be one way traffic about just me talking. It's about discussing cricket and sharing our thoughts,” said Tendulkar, adding that the he still has the same passion for the game. “Whatever time I get on the field I try to make the most of it,” said Tendulkar.

Meanwhile Rohit Sharma, who has done well as captain so far, said, "We have been going really well so far. I just don't want to relax. We've got four games to go and we aren't taking it easy. Tendulkar is experienced enough and he got us the start we wanted. 170 on this ground was a good score to defend and there wasn't much dew today."
