VVS Laxman contemplating retirement: Reports

New Delhi: Stylish Indian batsman VVS Laxman is contemplating on calling it quits after the two test match home series against New Zealand.

According to report it has been learnt that the veteran batsman has decided to retire because he is hurt by repeated accusations of being one of the reasons of India’s dismal performance in their last two overseas tours in England and Australia. He apparently did not like the way critics think that he wish to continue playing cricket is blocking the chances in the team.

As per reports, Laxman who is expected to announce his retirement within a day or two is said to have reluctantly agreed to be part of the upcoming two match test series against the Kiwis in order to say goodbye on the advice of his well-wishers.

Laxman made his test debut and since then has played 134 tests and scored 8781 runs including 17 centuries and 56 fifties. He has also played 86 ODIs scoring 2338 runs with six hundreds.

Laxman was the part of the fab four of Indian team which included Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid and it was these stalwarts that contributed immensely to take India to number 1 spot in test cricket.
