Euro Cup 2012: England vs Ukraine: Players to watch out for...

England and Ukraine go head on head against each other in a crucial match and both the teams stand a fair chance in qualifying for the quarterfinals. England just require a draw to progress whereas Ukraine need to win the match if they want to make it to the next round.

Now both the teams have had a good performance in tournament and it can be anybody’s game. Both the teams are evenly matched at least on papers.

Both Ukraine and England boasts of some good names and there are players who could play an important role in the outcome of the match.

Here are some of the players to watch out for in today’s match:

England:


Wayne Rooney: Their star striker was serving a two match ban, but then he would make a comeback this match. He had a good season at the EPL for Manchester United and would like to replicate it here. He will be raring to go and he can surely make the difference today.

Steven Gerrard: Over the years, England has earned the reputation of a team which gets highly dangerous when it comes down to set pieces. Gerrard is extremely good when it comes to delivering set pieces and he finds his spot accurately. And not only that, this crafty midfielder is expected to create trouble for Ukraine with his runs and playmaking skills.

Ukraine:

Andriy Yarmolenko: He has been dubbed as the next ‘Shevchenko’. This young striker has already scored seven goals in 18 appearances and would hold the key for Ukraine. With Sheva doubtful to start the match he would be the one leading their attack and he would like to prove his talent.

Anatoliy Tymoshchuk: The Bayern Munich midfielder would hold the key for them in the midfield. The skillful midfielder is not only good at playmaking but also his long range shot. He can get extremely dangerous and if he gets going things can get difficult for England.
