We played bad cricket, I am disappointed: Dravid

Hyderabad: After their defeat against Deccan Chargers, Rajasthan Royals became the third team to be eliminated from the playoff stage in IPL Season 5. Though it wasn’t the best of pitches to bat on, but nevertheless 126 wasn’t a target that Rajasthan Royals would have liked to set for the hosts. Disappointed with his team’s exit from the league, Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid admitted candidly that Royals didn’t play good cricket at all.

“It’s was bad cricket that did us out. I don't think we were under any kind of pressure. 150 or so would have been enough on this wicket. Obviously we all are disappointed. It was a need to look at our own strengths, it was a bat-first wicket but we failed in that area. Hope to deliver in front of our fans at home,” said Dravid.

Meanwhile Deccan Chargers skipper Cameroon White said that he just hoped that the jinx of losing at home ground was over. “It was a good team effort to win this match. We felt we bowled well. The way the track played, we would have batted first as well. When you have won only two games in the tournament, there are always nerves. We need to come back well against Gayle and co. with some plans,” said White.

Man-of-the-match Dale Steyn said, “Enjoyed the season a lot. Would have been better had we won more. I don't want to discuss too many of my plans. Teams respect me too much sometimes. My job is to run in, bowl fast and strike early. Have been used in different situations and I need to do the job assigned to me in all conditions.”
