In a low scoring affair chasing a target of 141, Mumbai were knocked out for 108. the win has now Kolkata reclaim the second spot on the points table and move a step closer to the play-offs spot. After the win Mumbai are now at the third spot.

Here are some of the performances that changed the course of the match.

Hits and flops of Kolkata Knight Riders:

Hits:

Manoj Tiwary: He has not been in the best of forms in this year’s Indian Premier League but yesterday he played a very handy knock to help his team post a decent total of 140. He scored 41 0f 43 which included two fours and two sixes. It was due to his innings that KKR could somewhat recover from their horrendous start.

Sunil Narine: He has been the best bowler for Kolkata throughout the tournament and yesterday it was his performance that helped his side beat the MI and go to the second spot on the points table. He bowled a vicious line and his variations were tricky that even the batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar fell prey to it. Narine returned with figures of 4-15 in 3.1 overs.

Flops:

Jacques Kallis (the batsman): Jacques Kallis has not been in good touch throughout the tournament. And even yesterday when it was required for him to play and stand up for his team he failed to deliver and was bowled in the first ball by RP Singh.

Hits and flops of Mumbai Indians:

Hits:

Collective bowling performance: The Mumbai Indians bowlers bowled in a much disciplined way and the batting line up of Kolkata which looked formidable throughout the tournament failed against them. It was their efforts that gave MI a very good chance to win the match after restricting them to a decent total of 140.

Flops:

Sachin Tendulkar: He just has one half century to his name in the tournament. And going by his class, it was highly expected that he would be able to counter the mystery of Sunil Narine.  But he was beaten all ends up by him and it was his wicket that brought the downfall of the team. He scored 27 of 23 balls which included three fours and a six.
