Determining his best five Test innings is not an easy thing to do and all his centuries came when his team wanted him to deliver. But still we tried to figure out his top five Test centuries. It is not the ultimate list and might differ with others fans. But this is what according to us that stand as the legend’s best. Here is a look:

148* Sydney, 1991-92 (Australia): This was the first time he was touring Australia. The fierce Australian attack had the whole of Indian batting line-up on the back foot. But Sachin untested on fast bouncy attack stood like a rock and raced to second century of his career. With the century he stamped his authority on the international arena and announced to the World that the great one has indeed arrived.

241* Sydney, 2003-04 (Australia): Over the years Sydney has become his happy hunting ground and he has played some great knocks in Sydney. India fared pretty well in the series overall, but his century stole the news. His never played his trademark cover drive as he has been falling prey to this shot throughout the series. This was his first century on the tour which he went on to convert into a double ton.

136 Chennai, 1999 ( Pakistan): He took to bat with excruciating back ache and was put to bat against the bowling combo of Pakistan which boasted of greats like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Saqlain Mushtaq. He took India very close to the victory against their arch nemesis. But a late batting order collapse denied India a famous win.

103* Chennai, 2008 (ENGLAND): The whole country was gripped with the 26/11 Mumbai attack and Sachin based out of Mumbai showed great character to help India chase down a target close to 400, which remains one of the best chases till date in the history of the game.

119 Manchester, 1990 (ENGLAND): His debut century on his first overseas tour, and that to in England. He defied the fast and pacy bowling attack of England to score a century on the fourth innings of the match to help India draw the match.
