Senior Men National C’ship: Kandulna five goals help RSPB beat CAG 6-0

hockey stick ball 26Etawah: Railway Sports Promotion Board beat Comptroller & Auditor General of India 6-0 in the opening game of Pool A in the Hockey India 6th Senior Men National Championship (A Division) , here on Tuesday. Rajin Kandulna scored five goals for his team (10’, 12’, 32’, 37’, 54’) in the rout.

Hockey Karnataka beat Hockey Maharashtra 4-2 in the second game of Pool A. Karnataka opened the scoring in the 4th minute, via JP Kusha. Maharashtra’s equaliser came in the 19th minute via Prithviraj Salunkhe. From then on Karnataka pressed into a higher gear as BM Sheshe Gowda (24’) and PL Thimmanna (32’, 38’) added to their tally. Maharashtra’s second goal came in the 51st minite via Gomed Patil.

Pool B’s second game saw a thrilling draw played out by UP hockey and MP Hockey Academy.Up opened the scoring in the 22nd minute via a Tushar Khandker goal. MP’s equaliser came in the 32nd minute via a Abhay Yadav goal. UP took the lead again in the 51st minute via Arjun Yadav and seemed to have sealed the victory. But, with a minute’s play left MP scored via a PC from Vikas Choudhary to steal a point from the encounter.
