New Delhi: The Disciplinary Committee of Hockey India on Friday met to discuss the Governance of Hockey in Kerala and operations of Hockey Kerala and investigate alleged irregularities in its functioning.

The Committee members reviewed the report and the documentation provided by Hockey Kerala during the meeting. The committee members agreed that there were irregularities in its functioning of the Member Unit.

With effect from 28 May 2014, Hockey Kerala was relegated to Associate Member category of Hockey India.

Hockey Kerala will have an opportunity to appeal against the decision within 30 days of yesterday’s meeting. As the President, Hockey Kerala was not available for the meeting he was represented by Senior Vice President M A Kareem and General Secretary Ramesh Kolappa.
