Jharkhand beat Hockey Maharashtra 13-0

00 hockeyLucknow:Jharkhand beat Hockey Maharashtra 13-0 in their first league match of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Championship in Pool C, played at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday.

Jharkhand played attacking hockey throughout the game leading 6-0 in the first half.

The goal scorers for Jharkhand were Nisha Rani Aind (6, 11, 35,  60 minutes), Shilwanti Minjur (9, 33, 34 min), Sabnam Lakra (42, 46 min), Anupam Horo (57, 65 min), Anita Swansi (44 min), Subhashi Hemrom (61 min).

In pool E Uttar Pradesh got a walkover from Arunachal.

In the other match of the day, Chhattisgarh beat Andhra Pradesh by 4-2. For Chhattisgarh the goal scores are Anshuli (4, 66 min) and Neelam Mundu (21, 35 min). For Andhra Pradesh Monika Nallapalli (55, 59 min) were the scorers.

PWD, Cooperative and Irrigation minister Shivpal Singh Yadav inaugurated the 13-day championship at the colorful ceremony.

Gymnastics girls and boys from Vir Bahadur Singh Sports College Gorakhpur demonstrated artistic, acrobatic and most beautiful Rhythmic gymnastics. Lucknow famous singer Kishore Chaturvedi staged an entertaining programme to mark a glittering opening of the championship.
