Shubhankar takes 3-shot lead in Eastern India junior golf

Kolkata: Shubhankar Sharma carded yet another one-under 69 in the second round of the Toyota Etios Eastern India Junior golf at the Tollygunge Golf Club on Wednesday. The Punjab golfer is now three clear of second placed Sayed Saqib Ahmed (69), who moved up the leaderboard with his sub-par round. Saqib is at 141 after his first round 72.

 

Abhishek Kuhar, placed second overnight dropped down with a round of 73 and he is third at 144. Rahul Ravi, last year’s winner and Manpreet Mann are tied in fourth place at 145, Raghubir Choudhary and Amanraj are tied sixth at 148.

In Category B, Prakhar Asawa moved to the top with a round of even par 70 and has a total of 143. He was one ahead of overnight leader, Mohan Sardar (72-72). Tutul Ali was third with rounds of 76 and 76 and he was tied with Kartikey Vashisht (78-74).

Karandeep Kochar moved into lead in Category C with a round of 75 and his total stands at 156, two ahead of Arjun Prasad (76-82). Overnight leader Kshitij Naveed Kaul (74-87) was tied fourth with Pratheek Nagaprasad (78-83) and with Jaiveer Singh (78-82) third.

In Category D, which began on Wednesday, Adil Bedi leads the field with a round of 78 and he was followed by Harshjeet Sethi (79).
