Pune: Sachin Gangal and Prakash Tolani excelled on the Oxford Golf & Country Club, Pune today, scoring a total of 65 points to help their team Siemens emerge champions on the second day of the 10th edition of TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge. With this win, Both Gangal and Tolani have qualified for the National final of the World Corporate Golf Challenge, to be played at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club, Kuala Lumpur in May in Malaysia.
Gangal (handicap -12, Points – 33) and Tolani (handicap -17, Points – 32) won on lower combined handicap against Sushant Khosla and Unmesh Bhathija of team Websym. Khosla, with a handicap of 17, scored 32 points while teammate Bhathija, with a handicap of 23, scored 33 points to give Websym a combined score of 65 points.
Siemens and Websym will be joined by Oxford Group and Infosys, who also made the grade from Pune yesterday and these four teams will match their skills with 8 teams from Bengaluru and Noida for the opportunity to represent India at the World Finals, to be held at the Oitavos Dunes Golf Course in Cascais, Portugal in July 2015.
Now in its 10th edition in India, TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge is India’s only official qualifying event for the prestigious World Corporate Golf Challenge. With support from TAKE Solutions since 2005, the tournament has established itself as a platform for corporate golfers to showcase their skills and compete with the best golfers from India and around the world.
This was the third & final qualifier of the 10th edition while the first regional qualifier was held at Eagleton Golf Course, Bengaluru in March. The second regional qualifer took place at Jaypee Greens Golf Club, Noida last week.
