Shreya Ghei clinch Ivy League Tournament

Shreya Ghai clinch Ivy League TournamentNew Delhi: As Indians mark their place across the global map, even the Ivy league schools have witnessed the talent and expertise offered by the youth of this nation.

At the recently held Dartmouth Invitational N.H. Tournament, the Yale women’s golf team came back with facilitations and laurels, as  the 19 year old Indian Shreya Ghei led them to an unmatched victory along with an one-under par total to win the individual title as well. As part of the skilled team, 4 other team members along with Shreya made it to the top-ten, thus driving the Bulldogs to the overall score of an unbeatable 295, 15 strokes ahead of second placed team Boston.

Ghei won her individual title with consistent rounds of 71 and 72 and edged BU’s Kristyna Pavlickova by two strokes. The sophomore said that her putting gave her the advantage this weekend. “I putted really well, which was important because all of last year I wasn’t putting as well,” Ghei said. “I wasn’t holing shots from all over the course but I sank a lot of putts when I had the chance.”

The team will look to repeat this weekend's victory next weekend, when it returns home for the Sept. 21-23 Yale Intercollegiate at The Course at Yale.
