Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s superb double century gets applauds from all quarters

Mahendra singh Dhoni was applauded for his 206 on the third day of the first Test against Australia on Sunday. He scored an unbeaten 206 to take India to 515/8. Now with the lead of 135 runs and with two days left in the match, India look to be in a very strong position. He has simply turned the match in India’s favor by coming up with his swash-buckling knock.


During his innings, he smashed five sixes and 22 boundaries all over the park which kept Australian captain in dilemma.

According to the reports of Times of India, former England captain Michael Vaughan was quoted saying, "The coolest man in world cricket MS Dhoni delivers when it matters the most. Incredible innings against the Aussies put India back on track." In the process, Dhoni also crossed the 4000-run mark in Test cricket. He also has the highest individual score by an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman when he surpassed Budhi Kunderan's 192.

As per the reports of Deccan Chronicle, Legendary spinner Shane Warne was also impressed by Dhoni's knock. “WOW, M S Dhoni is going off here in Chennai, amazing batting," said Warne, who is part of the commentary team of Star Cricket. Glenn McGrath added some more praises I his interview by saying that, "Great innings by MS Dhoni 206*. India is now in a strong position against the Aussies."

Players who are out of the team also greeted him with their tweets.

"What an innings @msdhoni truly inspirational stuff. One of the best innings i have seen," tweeted Ajinkya Rahane. Another Indian batsman Suresh Raina tweeted, "That was a dominating double! Congratulations @msdhoni Take it to a triple ton mate."

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his twitter account, "Dhoni 206*..!! Incredible feat ! Where are all those 'prophets of doom' that were writing him off , just yesterday ! 'Prophets of Doom' : 'bhaisaheb yahan chullu bhar pani kahin milega ?'," wrote Bachchan.
