Sushil denies allegations that he bit his opponent's ears in Olympics

After a bad 2011, criticism started doing the rounds, and the critics were having a great time and almost wrote off Sushil Kumar’s chances of making it to the Olympics, let alone winning there. But then he silenced all his critics by becoming the first Indian athlete to have won back to
back Olympics medals after winning the silver medal at the London Olympics.

A report in The Times of India has quoted Sushil saying, “I think whenever you hit rock bottom, it is very important to stand up again and that is what I have done every single time. However, it's easier said than done."

Sushil’s victory in the Olympics was however not devoid of any controversies and it was highly speculated that he bit his opponent’s ears during the semi final bout.

Sushil denied the allegations and said, “"No, I didn't bite my opponent's ear! So that controversy didn't affect me at all. In fact, wrestling has helped me a lot to concentrate and when I have a match coming up, I solely concentrate on the game. Nothing else matters!"

From a small town boy to a revered icon, Sushil is being now bombarded with cash awards and endorsement offers but the champion wrestler does not even know what to do with them.

"I haven't even contemplated about what I would like to do with the cash awards, as I have hardly got any time after returning home! But no matter what happens, I would surely contribute as much as I can towards wrestling," the TOI quoted Sushil as further saying.
