India's Olympic medal winning wrestlers Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt returned home late Monday night to a hero's welcome as supporters including young grapplers from nearby akhadas, turned up at the international airport making it a carnival like atmosphere said a report in Deccan Herald.
As soon as the wrestlers out of the arrival lounge, celebrations broke out as drums started to beat and fireworks lit up the sky.
Sushil and Yogeshwar were surprised to see their life-sized cut-outs, and within moments they were carried on the shoulders of their supporters.
With garlands round their neck, Sushil and Yogeshwar were dazed with the grand reception.
Meanwhile a report in DNA says that all hell broke loose when the fans first sighted spotted their heroes. Police struggled to control the surging fans as they broke barriers to reach out to their heroes.
The fans carried both Sushil and Yogeshwar over their shoulders and welcomed them with a huge roar. Sushil was later ferried away in an open truck, while Yogeshwar left in a car.
Both the wrestlers waved at the crowd, acknowledging the tumultuous welcome.
