For the sake of my country I am ready to play with Paes or Bhupathi or Bopanna or any other player: Sania Mirza

Sania Mirza has lashed out on the All India Tennis Federation and the players who were involved in the controversy that surrounded the selection of the team for the London Olympics. Sania pointed out to Leander Paes’ father Dr Vece Paes who said that he wants a written assurance from Sania that she will partner her son in the mixed doubles, Sania on the issue said that her commitment is to her country and for the sake of India she is committed to play with Leander Paes or Mahesh Bhupathi or Rohan Bopanna or Somdev Devvarman or Vishnu Vardhan, says a report in The Hindustan Times.

Sania said that being a women from the 21st century she feels humiliated by the manner in which she was put up as bait to try and pacify one of the disgruntled stalwarts of Indian tennis.

Sania Mirza also lashed out at her French Open winning partner Mahesh Bhupathi saying that he made the commitment to her that they will try to win an Olympic medal together for India, says a report in The Times of India.

Sania said that Bhupathi stood firm to team up with Bopanna as he genuinely believed it was good for India, Sania said that each person has its own priorities and she would like to believe that Bhupathi has made his choice in the best interests of the country.

Sania tore apart AITA saying that she believes that she deserves a bit of respect from the federation and said that national tennis federation didn’t think it necessary to send her a simple congratulatory message after she won her second Grand Slam title three weeks ago, says a report in The Hindu.

She is also amazed with the manner in which the facts have been misrepresented to the public at large to paint a totally wrong picture in an attempt to justify the breaking up of her team with Mahesh Bhupathi even after their French Open triumph recently.
