Lakshadweep, APS, and TAFS shine on opening day of Subroto Cup Junior Boys U-17

Subroto Cup U 17New Delhi: The Junior Boys (U-17) category of the 64th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament kicked off today with high energy and exciting contests, as young footballers displayed skill, teamwork, and fighting spirit across multiple venues in Delhi. The first day set the tone for an action-packed tournament, showing the spark and competitiveness that makes Subroto Cup a breeding ground for future stars.

Government Senior Secondary School, Lakshadweep, began the day in style with an emphatic 8-0 win over Rashtriya Military School (RMS). Shameel (12’, 63’), Raez (38’, 58’), Navas (45’), Javed (27’, 63’) and an own goal by Rajendra from RMS (41’) sealed the one-sided contest.

The Air Force School (TAFS) impressed with a commanding 4-0 victory over Jayshree Periwal International School (ISSO). Dhruv (9’), Jaabir (26’), Pranjal (66’), and Arnab (70+2’) found the net to hand their side the crucial points.

In another tightly fought match, Farook Higher Secondary School (Kerala) edged out Mamta Modern Senior Secondary School (Delhi) 2-1. Jasheer (35’) and Adikrishna (52’) scored for Kerala, while Pranjal (48’) pulled one back for Delhi.

North Liberty Higher Secondary School (Meghalaya) overcame Ram Krishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyapeeth (Chhattisgarh) 2-0 with goals from Lyndoh (41’) and Shylla (70+5’).

Goa’s Fr. Agnel Multipurpose Higher Secondary School registered a solid 4-2 win against Guru Govind Singh Sports College (Uttar Pradesh). Fernandes (3’), Mendes (41’), Pinto (60’), and Dulan (70+3’) netted for Goa, while Anud (21’) and Satyam (53’) kept UP in the game.

ASC Centre, Army Boys Company, and Numoligarh Higher Secondary School (Assam) played out a thrilling 2-2 draw. Jackson (14’) and Sandeep (50’) scored for Army Boys, while Partha (35+2’) and Akash (70+3’) struck late to rescue Assam.

Army Public School (APS) dominant 4-0 win over Tashi Namgyal Academy (IPSC). Aman (20’), Ali (7’), and Yash (26’, 45’) were all on target in a confident display.

The opening day of the Junior Boys (U-17) category reflected the true spirit of Subroto Cup, fast-paced football, raw talent, and plenty of future promise.
