14th Administrator’s Challenge Cup: FC Pune City beat Pride Sports 4-1; Mahilpur Football Academy blank Gujarat Football Association 16-1

Football icon isnChandigarh: FC Pune City defeated Pride Sports, Delhi by 4-1 in the first match of Day 6 in the ongoing 14th Administrator’s Challenge Cup All India football Tournament for Boys U-17 years organized by the Sports Department, Chandigarh Administration, here on Monday.

Both the teams started the game at a dull note and long passes dominated during the first 30 minutes. However both the teams camp up with couple of good moves in between.

In the 38th minute of play, Pride lads came up with two long passes inside the penalty area of FC Pune City. After controlling the ball with chest Yogesh of Pride took a short which was saved by a side dive by the Pune golie but was converted by Aryan Pal off a rebound.

After conceding a goal, FC Pune City lads came up with a superb move from the right flank. In the 46th minute of play Cladio of F.C. Pune city was tackled in a dangerous manner just outside the penalty area in the right side. FC Pune City awarded a free kick, which was taken by Reamei. Reamei sent a banana kick inside the Pride’s penalty area where Sieminthang scored the equalizer for Pune with a fine header. Both the teams were locked at 1-1 at the breather.

On the resumption of play after lemon break, F.C. Pune City pumped three goals and sealed the fate of Pride Sports Delhi. Amritpal scored one goal in 60th minute whereas, Ishan Dey scored two goals in 68th and 80th minutes of play. Lobsang Xavier and Aryan of Pride sports and Junia and Gaurav of F.C. Pune city were cautioned by the referee and shown Yellow cards.

In the second match played at Sector-42, Sports Complex, Mahilpur Football Academy blanked Gujarat Football Association by 16-1. Asif Khan opened the account in the second minute of play there after there was a rain of goals.

Umesh scored six goals for Mahilpur in 14th, 15th, 42nd, 58th, 69th and 72nd minutes of play. Asif Khan scored his second goal in 22nd minutes of play. Bhupinder scored five goals in 26th, 40th, 44th , 56th , 64th minutes of play, while Baljinder, Amritpall and Amandeep scored one goal each for Mahilpur.

Sudarshan of Gujarat scored the only goal for his team in 88th minutes of play.

In the third match played at Sector-42, Sports Complex, Youngsters Football Club, Chandigarh shared point with Baichung Bhutia Football School, Delhi by playing a 2-2 draw.

Both the teams adopted cautious approach in the starting minutes of play. In the 26th minute of play, Arjun the medio of Youngsters framed a move from the midfield and gave a through pass to Rohit Sheikh on the left flank, where Rohit after controlling the ball dribbled inside and gave a minus pass to Amanpreet who crossed over to the forward line and made no mistake in scoring the first goal for youngsters by a accurate in swinger. The Youngsters lads were leading by 1-0 at the half time.

After the interval, Bhutia lads organised themselves and exerted pressure on Youngsters’ defence line in the 52nd minute of play. Rohan was substituted by Seminchen for Bhutia team. He utilized his fresh energy and crossed over to front line and luckily he got a chance to score equalizer in the 54th minute of play off a corner kick. After the tally of 1-1, both the teams increased the pace of game. Interestingly both the teams missed couple of score chances.

It was again Seminlun who scored second goal for Bhutia in the 77th minutes of play. After conceding second goal, Youngsters lads came up and mounted pressure with two extra players crossing over to forwarded line Amanpreet Singh and Jaspreet Singh thrashed the defence line of Bhutia Football School on many occasions.

Devansh Jaiswal who entered the field as substitute for Youngsters scored the equalizer in the 89th minute of play.
In the fourth match played at Sector-17 Football Stadium, KUCT Howrah out classed Haryana Youngs Football Clubs by 7-1.

Deepanshu of Haryana opened the account in the 39th minute of play they were leading by 1-0 at the half time.

After the half time, KUCT, Howrah pumped 7 goals. Susabhan Khan scored four goals in 53rd, 70th, 73rd and 82nd minutes of play. Fifth goal was own goal by

Haryana lads in 80th minute of play. Binoy Patra and Tusher Pramak scored one goal each in the 88th and 99th minute of play. Lokesh and Yakash of Haryana and Amitava Polley of K.U.C.T. Hawrah were cautioned by the referee and shown Yellow cards.

In the other match played at Sector-17, hot contender Minverva Football Academy thrashed Navi Mumbai in a one-sided affair by 12-0 and became the first team to reach the semi-final stage. Thoiba Singh opened the account for Minvera in 4th minute of play and displayed their intention for becoming the highest scoring team in this tournament.

Nongdamba scored three goals for Minerva in 12th, 35th and 44th minutes of play Shazhan scored four goals in 16th , 40th and 78th and 84th minutes of play. Luna housam and Shamsher Singh scored one goal each in 68th and 86th minutes of play.

In the last match of the day played at Sector-42 Sports Complex, Chandigarh Football Association shared point with Thou Sports Academy Manipur. None of the team was able to score the goal up to long whistle the score was 0-0.
