cricket bat ballThe inaugural season of Tamil Nadu Premier League is off to a flying start! We are into the third week of the league, and the excitement is at its highest. We have seen two matches go to a super over, a magnificent century, a brilliant hat-trick and some outstanding fielding in these three weeks of TNPL. Each team is playing their best to secure a position in the semi finals.

Let's look at the performances of each team so far and where they stand in the points table.

1. Dindigul Dragons – The Dindigul Dragons are at the top of the table right now after winning 4 out of their 5 matches so far. With R. Ashwin as their captain, Dindigul Dragons have been playing superbly in this league. They clinched their fourth win in an exciting super over against Tuti Patriots.

2. Lyca Kovai Kings - With 6 points in their kitty after winning 3 matches so far, Lyca Kovai Kings are placed at the second position in the points table. They have just lost one match, to Ruby Kanchi Warriors, till now.

3. Chepauk Super Gillies – Chepauk Super Gillies owned by Metronation Chennai Television Private Limited is placed at the third position in the table with 6 points from their three wins in 5 matches.

4. VB Thiruvallur Veerans – Owned by VB Cricket Academy, VB Thiruvallur Veerans also have 6 points from their 3 wins in 5 matches. They are at the fourth position in the table with net run rate of 0.248.

5. TUTI Patriots – Led by the star player of TNPL, Dinesh Karthik, TUTI Patriots have won just 2 matches out of their 5 matches so far. They are lagging behind in the league with just 4 points in their kitty.

7. Ruby Kanchi Warriors – The team has played 5 matches so far and won just 2 out of them. Since each team has to play only 7 matches, they have a very small chance now to qualify for the semi finals.

8. Madurai Super Giants – Placed at the bottom of the table, Madurai Super Giants have not won a single match in the league. They are literally out of the tournament now.
