Fifth Chess Masters: Anand held by AronianBilbao (Spain): Viswanathan Anand’s failed to break his winless streak as he failed to break the shackles once again and played out his seventh consecutive draw at the Fifth Final Chess Masters here, signing peace with World number Levon Aronian of Armenia.

Anand now has seven points from as many games and finds himself in the fourth spot in the six player tournament.

Meanwhile highest ranked player Magnus Carlsen of Norway beat Francisco Vallejo Pons of Spain to go to the tied first spot with Fabiano Caruana of Italy with 12 point.

Caruana who came into the Bilbao leg leading the table followed his loss to Carlsen in the last game with a draw against Sergey Karkajin of Russia.

With Caruana and Carlsen leading the charts, Aronian is on third spot with nine points followed by Anand.

Karjakin takes the fifth spot with five points, while Vallejo Pons with four pints finds himself at the bottom of the table.
