Kuala Lumpur: Jeev Milkha Singh, who had to miss the action last few weeks, is back and hoping to shrug off the ill-effects of his back injury to stake a claim at the $6.1 million Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia starting on Thursday.
Jeev, a two-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner, took a two-week break to recuperate from a back injury and is eyeing to bounce back into form in this week's tournament, which will reward the champion with $1.3 million.
In the star-studded 48 men cast at The Mines Resort and Golf Club, another Indian will be SSP Chowrasia, who is the current leader on the Asian Tour.
Chowrasia, winner of the joint-sanctioned Avantha Masters earlier in the season, came back into form with a tied-seventh place finish after a series of missed cuts.
If Chowrasia tops he could become the fourth Indian after Jyoti Randhawa (2002), Arjun Atwal (2003) and Jeev (2006 and 2008) to win the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
