India at Rio Olympics, Day 10: D-Day for Lalita and boxer Vikas; Srikanth, Sindhu to play their pre-quarterfinal matches

Vikas Krishan RioRio de Janeiro: After an agonising Day 9 of Rio Olympics 2016 when stars like Saina Nehwal, Sania Mirza-Rohan Bopanna, Manoj Kumar, Indian men's hockey Team and Dipa Karmakar all bowed out of the competition, Day 10 awaits India’s campaign in some of the events, including 3000m steeplechase, badminton, boxing and men’s triple jump.

Lalita Babar will be spearheading India’s challenge in the final of the 3000m steeplechase at the Rio Olympics and look to end India’s agonizing wait for a medal in Rio, while Renjith Maheshwary will fight it out in the men’s triple jump. Srabani Nanda will be competing in the women’s 200m, while Seema Punia will try her to give her best in the discus throw.

In badminton, Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu will be playing in the pre-quarterfinal round.

Ravinder Khatri will vye for honours in 85 kg men’s Greco-Roman wrestling, while Vikas Krishan Yadav will be punching to glory in the quarterfinals of the men’s middle 75kg early on Tuesday morning.
