WC preparations: India lose to Argentina 1-2 in first practice match

Indian Hockey Team Net PracticeHague: India lost to Argentina 1-2 in their first practice match in preparations for the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014 here on Sunday.

Argentina scored one goal each in the 1st half and the 2nd half of the match. Only goal through India was scored by Dharamvir Singh in the second half of the match.

Indian team had a major setback when their star forward player Ramandeep Singh got seriously injured in the second half of the match as his right eye socket and cheekbone were damaged during the match. After the injury he was immediately rushed to the hospital where he underwent the operation. Looking at his serious injury, Lalit Upapdhyay is set to replace him. He is leaving tonight for The Hague.
