Gurbani favourite to win Chandigarh Golf C'ship

golf-1Chandigarh: Usha International (UIL) is strongly committed to the development of sports in the country and has been a major supporter of Golf for the last 25 years Gurgaon based Gurbani Singh, the current Order of Merit leader of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Ladies Amateur Golf Tour, is set to tee off as favourite to win the USHA CHANDIGARH LADIES AND JUNIOR GIRLS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2013.

With fiercest rival Aditi Ashok of Bangalore not playing, her confidence will get a further boost as she looks to defend her title of being the best Ladies Amateur Golfer of the country. A record 41 golfers will vie for the title at the picturesque Chandigarh Golf Club. The three-day event played over 54 holes will see the winner emerge of Friday, October 4.

 

Gurbani, all of 17, has been consistently finishing amongst the top 10 in the Order of Merit list of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Ladies Tour for the past four years, before finishing on top of the Ladies Tour last year. She is enjoying a healthy lead at the top this year as well and third-placed Millie Saroha is most likely to give her the best competition at Chandigarh.

Other tour ‘veterans’ to look out for in the tournament will be the likes of gauri Monga, Riddhima Dilawari and Seher Atwal who will be eager to make their move to the top of the merit list.
