Sharan-Hsun bow out of US Open, lose to Aisam-RojerNew York: Divij Saran bowed out of US Open after he lost his third round match of men’s doubles here on Monday. He along with his partner Yen Hsun Lu, who hails from Chinese Taipei lost to fifth seeded duo of Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer. Qureshi and Rojer will go on to take Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek in the quarter-finals.

Sharan and Lu lost 6-7 (6) 6-3 3-6 to the Pakistani-Dutch duo. It was terrific serve from Aisam-Rojer which ousted the Indo-Taipei duo as they fired six aces against them in the opening set of the contest.

The good thing for Sharan and Lu was that they weren't making many unforced errors in comparison to Qureshi-Rojer but still they couldn’t step up to the occasion and had a very little to resist, as their opponents kept their ascendancy in this match.

In the second set fortunes did turn around for the Indo-Taipei pair when they maintained their first serve percentage to its best. Though, it wasn’t just their efforts that brought them back in the game but also some bad tennis from Qureshi and Rojer, who squandered three break points.

The fifth seeded pair of Pakistani-Dutch got their act together in the deciding set as they broke Sharan and Lu once and did not concede a single break point, which helped them to advance to the next round.
