Jaipur: Superb bowling by Pravenn Tambe (4 for 15 in three overs) helped Rajasthan Royals beat Highveld Lions by 30 runs in the Champions League match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Wednesday.
After setting a massive target of 183 runs, thanks to some good batting from Rahul Dravd (31), Shane Watson (33), Stuart Binny 38) and Brad Hodge (46), Rajasthan restricted Lions to 153 for nine in the alloted 20 overs. Praveen Tambe was the wrecker-in-chief, as he took four wickets, giving away just 15 runs in the three overs that he bowled.
Tambe was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan as the veteran ran through the Lions's middle-order with his quick leg-breaks. He also plumbed Sohail Tanvir with a fullish delivery.
Meanwhile, Vikramjeet Malik (2/26 in 3 overs) once again proved his worth as he gave his a team early breakthroughs with some disciplined bowling.
Earlier, experience Hodge scored a 23-ball-46, including 20 runs in the final over of the innings bowled by Pakistani left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir.
All-rounder Stuart Binny once again played a nice cameo (38 off only 20 balls) while Shane Watson (33off 24 balls) and skipper Rahul Dravid (31 off 30 ) also made useful contributions.
