World Hockey League: India beat Chile to finish 7th

hockey-200Rotterdam: India came from a goal behind to claim seventh place at the World League semi-final in Rotterdam, bouncing back after Camila Caram had fired Chile in front early in the second half.

The lead lasted just three minutes as Ritusha Kumari Arya finished off from close range, slotted under Claudia Schuller from Lilima Minz’s pass from the baseline.

And Chanchan Devi Thokchom moved her side into the lead with 14 minutes to go following a melee in front of the goal. Chile had a number of corners in the closing phases to pull level again but could not take them and so end the tournament eighth with India seventh.
