Kohli, Gayle, Zaheer star in RCB's win over CSK

Brilliant performance of Zaheer Khan handed over a sensational win as he picked up four wickets in his spell of two overs.


Earlier it was some terrific batting from Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle which took RCB to a royal total of 106 runs in just eight overs. Kohli smashed 56 runs off 29 balls whereas Gayle smacked 28 runs off 13 balls.


Chennai Super Kings had a heart breaking start as they lost the wicket of Mike Hussey and Suresh Raina in quick succession. Dwayne Bravo and Murali Vijay added 18 runs for third wicket but dismissal of Bravo after scoring 11 runs off 9 balls almost confirmed RCB's victory.


MS Dhoni and Murali Vijay did try their best to get their team back on the right track but it was too late. Vijay departed after scoring 32 runs off 19 balls and was followed by Dhoni who smoked away 24 run off 10 balls. Zaheer came back into action and dismissed Jadeja in the final ball of the match.


Earlier it was the blistering knocks played by Gayle and Kohli which set up the match beautifully. They started off slowly but turned the match completely in their favour as Gayle smashed three back to back sixes off Folder, which was the clear indication that it’s not going to be easy bowling to this duo. They added 67 runs for the first wicket.


RCB lost Chris Gayle and AB De Villiers in quick succession but Kohli shifted his gear well and started dealing in fours and sixes and smashed away 56 runs in 29 balls. Moises Henriques smashed three fours of three balls that he faced and helped his side to reach 106 runs. Henriques and Kohli added 30 runs for the third wicket.
